Shadow Quest

When I worked on Shadow Quest, my mission was clear: to build a world that inspires curiosity and remains unforgettable in the minds of players. As a concept artist, I created characters, environments, and visual assets that transform the game into a captivating experience.

Every element I created went through a meticulous process – from initial sketches to finishing details using software like PhotoshopIllustrator, SPINE. Close collaboration with the team allowed me to integrate feedback quickly, ensuring the visual and narrative cohesion of the game.

Character Design: Creating Heroes and Antagonists

The characters in Shadow Quest are more than just visuals – they are central pieces of the story.

  • Fantasy heroes: magicians, elfs, poison ivory, ifrit, spirits, etc
  • Harpy: I combined the grace of a dancer with the ferocity of a mythological predator. Its colors, a mix of cool tones and dramatic details, reflect its ambiguous nature – ally or foe?
  • Lake Monsters: Inspired by the legends of deep waters, these creatures embody the duality of danger and beauty. The subtle glow emanating from their skin adds an air of mysticism, captivating the player’s attention.
  • Green Worm: I designed this enemy as a symbol of corrupted nature. Its organic textures, vibrant colors, and grotesque design create a powerful visual impact, suggesting a threat that cannot be ignored.
  • Skelets, Zombi, Vampires, etc

ENVIRONMENT DESIGN

  • I designed adventure and dungeon platforms with a modular approach, allowing for quick customization and adaptation of levels. The detailed textures and color combinations were chosen to reflect the atmosphere of each area, from lively natural landscapes to dark ruins.
  • Death Background: This background captures the moments of failure in the game, combining dramatic shades of red and black to emphasize the emotion of loss. The image creates a strong visual impact, motivating players to continue.
  • Time-up Background: This image conveys the urgency of time with shadows and a cool color palette. The character holding an hourglass symbolizes the irreversible passage of time.
  • Perks & icons: These visual elements provide a clear and intuitive language for in-game interactions. Each icon is unique, representing abilities or valuable resources.
